Old Town San Diego - A Great Place To Spend An Afternoon

I visited Old Town San Diego with my wife, who was visiting our son in the city too.  We went for a walk around the area and had lunch at one of the more popular tourist restaurant that we seem to visit from time to time.  Although the restaurant caters to many tourists, the food is good and there is great atmosphere.

The Old Town San Diego State Historic Park comprises a number of the historic buildings with history within.

The photo above is the flag pole on the Old Town common.  If you come to Old Town don’t miss the history. Check out all the buildings.

On our walk we met a couple from England that live in Maryland and were on travel.  They had just driven down the California coast from San Diego.

They got off the trolly at Old Town and walked the wrong way looking to visit Old Town.  We had quite the chat as we were returning from Old Town Park, Site of Fort Stockton, and the Presido on the hill nearby.  Don’t forget to take the walk up to the top and see the city from the site of the Fort.

We were headed back to Old Town as I had parked my Tacoma/FWC in the free parking of the Historic Park.

Above is a row building with shops and historic self guided tours that explain the history of Old Town and the settlement of San Diego.

This concludes my San Diego visit and its back to Arizona to get ready to head into Utah for March.

It’s always great to visit my son and family a couple times during my travels.
